Official government figures show over (14,000 cases) and 173 deaths (from 19 March to 18 August), though many doubt these are accurate figures.
The real impact is of course economic. Over 60% of the people in the tourism/hospitality industry lost their jobs, 30% in transport, (among others).
Churches have to ask for an authorization and comply with many stringent requirements to meet, and no more than 50 at a time.
Pray healing for those who are ill today, comfort for those who mourn the loss of loved ones today, provision and hope for those without work and struggling to eat today,
