Uganda

Title: Uganda

Tier: 1

Type: country

Revival and church growth continues from 1986 to the present. Uganda has widespread prayer movements, a strong evangelical presence in the Church of Uganda (Anglican), and renewal movements in the Catholic Church. Some consider it one of the most truly Christian nations in the world. Public prayer is common even in government and judicial buildings, and many people attend church. Pentecostal and charismatic churches grow the fastest, both the megachurches with thousands of members and the small house and storefront churches. Pray that God’s character might be reflected by the Church and the nation as a whole.

Uganda

Title: Uganda

Tier: 1

Type: country

Uganda works hard to recover from many years of war, violence, and heavy-handed government. Pray for peace within the troubled region and the nation. The current president has been in power since 1986. Uganda has attracted attention through widespread child labour, allegations of widespread use of torture by those in power, and its incendiary approach to LGBT issues. Amidst these many points of concern, Christian NGOs and ministries provide aid, shelter, counselling, spiritual ministry, and education. Uganda has one of the world’s highest proportions of evangelical Christians. Pray for God’s people to be at the heart of the nation’s restoration.
