Jordan – “by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving”

From a Christian living in Jordan

Jordan locked down hard and early.  Consequently the prevalence of COVID-19 in the country has been minimal, especially in comparison with much of the region.  Jordan has been moving out of lockdown in the past weeks and is expected to re-open its borders, with significant restrictions, next month (August).

We give thanks for the minimal health impact so far of COVID-19 in the country. The economic impact, as elsewhere in the world, will be significant for months and years to come.

Please pray with us:

  • For the authorities as they seek to manage the economic impact of the pandemic.  For wisdom, and integrity.
  • For the churches as they will increasingly need to respond in a holistic way to the growing economic and social needs around them. Pray that this response will be rooted in a deep love for Jesus and for those that Jesus loves.
  • For the vast majority, who do not know Jesus, that during this time of uncertainty they will seek him and find him.
  • For the growing number of believers from a Muslim background, for deep discipleship (typically in small groups) and for a growing witness among their families and communities.
