Japan – Pray for the people in the Kyushu region

From a Christian living in the Kyushu area

On July 4, heavy rains caused flooding in parts of Kyushu, and as of July 20, there were 72 deaths and five missing persons in the region, with the worst damage centered on Kumamoto Prefecture. COVID-19 has complicated relief efforts and limited the number of volunteers outside of the prefecture being allowed in. One health worker from outside of Kyushu, who volunteered at two evacuation shelters in Kumamoto, later tested positive for the virus.

Pray for those who have suffered a significant loss, both in lives and property, and for a church in Hitoyoshi City that suffered flood damage. Pray for the work of the Kyushu Christ Disaster Relief Center, a Christian non-profit that is conducting relief efforts.
